What is my Philosophy in Life?

We, humans seem to be writers of our own lives. As much as possible, we do not allow others to hold the pen we used in writing our own fairy tale. We do not want them to butt in and ruin our perspectives. As the saying goes, “Man by nature is a philosopher.” Thus, all of us live with different beliefs and/or rules that we use as a foundation and guide for our everyday lives and for us to reach our main goal.
No matter what philosophy a person holds or believes on his/her life is said to be a clear description of an answer to the question “Who Am I?” Why did I come up with this one? It is because a philosophy of life can be determined as an overall vision or attitude toward life and same goes as what is the purpose of our life (based on the definition from Merriam-Webster). Just like me, an eighteen – year old lady has my own philosophy in life. I live my life simple and on a day-to-day basis. It means that I go along the path planned and organized by God for me and I take things as they come. For that reason, my philosophy in life is “We can never please everybody. We can never convince everybody to like us as well.” I stand for it connecting to my motto, Always believe and trust God, wherein we can never please everybody since God made humans without perfection – that nobody’s perfect. It was due to my experiences that’s why I end up with this. I know that there would be arguments asking how about for some circumstances? Best example that would fit in is the one I’ve experienced while I’m on the flight of my studies. Yes, I do also plan and prepare for things about to happen but sometimes fate doesn’t allow matching at all. There came an instance that our Professor very well explained our lesson and I honestly got it though but unfortunately I failed our examination although I did study hard. It was really heart-breaking for me too but I always put in my mind that God has always a purpose and/or reason for everything that happens. Moreover, it also explains that my answers (like in essay-type part of exam) really did not please my Professor. Another one is very familiar to anyone. Commonly in schools, students tend to create groups or circle of friends by of course choosing for some who will qualify and there would be others who were left out of place. Usually it is because either we don’t like his/her physical appearance, attitude or even both. Furthermore, this just shows that we can never convince other to like us. I live by my philosophy and motto in life because it also helps me get through from different problems where I sometimes tend to give up.
Despite of our imperfections, at least we’re still working. I do not propose that in everything we do; only one try is enough – that the common Filipino phrase “Ok na ‘yan!” or “Pwede na ‘yan!” is sufficient. We must always put in our minds that we do things out from our bests and that we know in ourselves that we enjoyed it not because we aim for something and we want to persuade everyone but because we wanted to show and express to other people what are we capable of without forcing them to like us.
